House in Stromkovice

Krkonoše mountains / 2020

"Buildings in Stromkovice" is a set of buildings, or rather three objects, connected by their location to the demolished site of a farmstead on a sloping meadow in the village of Stromkovice.

The land consists of one main building for family recreation and two additional buildings. All buildings respect the zoning plan with their basic massing solution and follow the local development with their morphology and materials. The architectural solution is modern, meeting current usage requirements and utilizing technological possibilities of construction.

The main building is the so-called "Glasshouse" - a building used for family recreation. It is a three-story building that follows the original building on a slope along the contour. It consists of one underground floor - a plinth made of the original stone foundation with garages and the building's facilities, one above-ground floor with glass walls and a wooden structure with a facade made of tanned boards, and an attic with a wooden facade of gables and a gable roof with a covering made of vertical asphalt strips.

The secondary building is the so-called "Test Room" - an additional building to the barn. It is a single-storey building located in the footprint of the original building. A wooden building with an open truss with a gable roof oriented along the slope, with a facade made of tanned boards and a roof covering made of vertical asphalt strips.

Another secondary building is the so-called "Vejminek" - an additional building of the workshop. It is a single-storey building built into the remains of the perimeter walls of the original stable. It is a wooden building with a flat green roof.

The courtyard between these buildings is already leveled, its area is grassed, the driveway and the entrance to the garage are paved with gravel. The other areas of the land remain untouched.
