The clients purchased a plot of land with views of the Tisz Walls, which are their favorite climbing destination. Visual contact was therefore an important element of the brief. In addition, there were requirements for family housing, a garage, a shed, a sauna, a social area and two apartments. The material solution responds to the original mountain "cottage" development.

 

We designed two identical volumes with a gable roof, conceived as wooden buildings on concrete bases. A family house for private life and a barn for social use. The resulting courtyard is connected by a flat green roof, under which a garage, shed, sauna, covered terrace and entrances to both houses are hidden.

The interiors of both houses have a similar spatial and aesthetic concept. In the family house, one half is a generous space open to the roof, which is reserved for private family life, the other half is dedicated to bedrooms and facilities. In the barn, its raised part serves as a hobby area, for relaxation during sauna rituals, and also as a social space for the two apartments located in its second part.

 

The interior is defined in terms of materials by concrete base structures, wooden trusses, walls and floors, and large-format glass surfaces.
